Wow! What a long strange trip it's been

With apologies the Jerry Garcia...

Seems like forever since I've been able to post something.  I guess it's good to be busy.

The last time I blogged I was at the Pennwriters Conference waiting to auction off the 51 baskets that were donated by many people.  A great big thanks from me to you if you're a business or person who donated.  The membership loved them all.

So, what's new you ask?  Well, I was able to garner an interview with Chris Fennimore from WQED TV in Pittsburgh after spending a morning and afternoon volunteering my voice to their call center to assist this TV station with their fundraising.  Hubby and I were there today and helped again.  (His first time- but I was gentle with him. :-) )

I also had an excellent time at the conference and was able to snag some interest in my manuscript, The Project.  Since it was just finished before the conference I have been going over the file and removing redundant words, over used words and confusing sentence structure.

I have 320 pages to work with and will be diving into this all weekend and most of the week ahead because the agent interested in this I truly respect and want to work with as my own agent.  I still have to take a stab at reading it for logic and plot problems.  Before starting this hubby graciously asked if I needed a plot reader.  Boy, am I glad I said yes!  Turns out he's really good at it.  After 17 years of marriage he is reading my stuff and liking it!  Yee haw!  He claims he wants to be Mr. Colette Garmer.  Cracks me up everytime I think about it.  But it does make me work harder knowing he's really in my corner.

How about you?  What makes you work harder?
